Our Team
Melissa Mazmanian is a Professor of Informatics at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences and Associate Professor of Organization and Management at the Paul Merage School of Management (joint) at the University of California, Irvine. Melissa’s interests revolve around communication practices in personal and organizational contexts.
Ingrid Erickson is an Assistant Professor at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. An ethnographer and organizational scholar by training, her research centers on the way that mobile devices, ubiquitous digital infrastructures, and artificial intelligence are influencing how we work and communicate with one another, navigate and inhabit spaces, and engage in new types of sociotechnical practices.
Maggie Jack is our postdoctoral scholar. Maggie is an ethnographic researcher of technology and work in a global context. Maggie holds a PhD in Information Science from Cornell University, an MPhil in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge, and an A.B. in History and Science from Harvard University.
Pyeonghwa Kim is a Ph.D. student at the Syracuse University iSchool. Her primary research interests lie in the areas of information systems and worker-centered design. Her current focus revolves around the skill development experiences of knowledge workers in technology-mediated work environments. She holds a B.A. in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London and an M.S. in Digital Contents and Information Studies from Seoul National University.
Charis Asante-Agyei is a PhD student in Information Science at Syracuse University. His research revolves around how digital technologies are shaping and are being shaped by the future of work. He is particularly interested in how workers leverage digital technologies to sustain their entrepreneurial work outside the formal structures of firms. Charis holds an MS in Technology Management from Stony Brook University.
